Accessibility

Web accessibility refers to the practice of making websites that can be used by people of all abilities and disabilities.

Elements that affect accessibility include:

  • Those with a visual impairment.
  • Those who are blind.
  • Those people who are deaf or have difficulty hearing.
  • Those who find a keyboard or mouse hard to use.
  • Those who find words difficult to read.
  • Those with epilepsy who may have seizures brought on by flickering or flashing content.
  • Colour Blind users.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community that develops open standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web and have developed web content accessibility guidelines. We endeavour to meet these guidelines and monitor future developments to improve the way the website operates.
