Science Week 2022
Lesson: Science
Class: Year R/1 Year: 2021 - 2022
For British Science Week 2022, we investigated the chosen theme of ‘Growth’ in several different ways. After an exciting delivery of ten eggs and an incubator, we observed how the eggs hatched, and then how the chicks began to grow and change.
Using a photograph of ourselves as babies, we discussed the many ways we have grown and changed since we were babies. Mrs Cunha also visited with her ten month old son to show us photographs of the new things he has been able to do since he was born, which made us think about what we are now able to do and what we might be able to do in the future as we continue to grow.
On Thursday we had a very exciting animal encounter from ZooLab! We met and handled, new animals including a snake and a centipede, as well as learning some new, fascinating facts.
Finally, we came together with the rest of the school and took the opportunity to dress up in a way that was inspired by science. We had an astronaut, vet and doctor, to mention just a few.
