The Circulatory System

Class: Year 5/6 Year: 2021 - 2022

The children have been enjoying learning about different parts of the circulatory system.  They used play doh to create the structure of the heart before acting out the pathway of the blood aound it.  Making blood using cheerios, food colouring, sequins and marshmallows was lots of fun.  First, they had to learn which component of the blood each of the ingredients represented.

Year 5 also had the opportunity to learn about the lungs whilst Year 6 were away on residential. They measured their their lung capacity by calculating how much water they could displace from a 2 litre bottle.
