Year one trip to Middlewood House
Lesson: Geography
Class: Year 1/2 Year: 2021 - 2022
On Wednesday 29th June the children in year one enjoyed a wonderful trip to Middlewood House forest school as part of our topic, 'The Great Outdoors'. The children learnt about woodland habitats and those animals that live at the different vertical layers. They had the opportunity to make their own woodland habitats and got to explore the different activities available in the woods. The experinece was made even more special when every child got to enjoy a Gruffalo crumble cookie and toast their own marshmellow!
To extend our learning in Geography, we either walked to or from Middlewood House. The children had to follow a map, use their knowldge of compass directiions aswell as observing the physical and human features in our local area.
